Dr. Brendan Hyde

Brendan Hyde Brendan Hyde, PhD is Senior Lecturer in Religious Education at the Australian Catholic University, Melbourne campus. He is the author of Children and Spirituality: Searching for Meaning and Connectedness, and co-author of The Spiritual Dimension of Childhood, with Kate Adams and Richard Woolley. Both books are recent publications through Jessica Kingsley Publishers, London.

Recently, Brendan has also taken on the role of co-editor of the International Journal of Children's Spirituality with Cathy Ota and Karen-Marie Yust.

Brendan has research interests in children's spirituality, and in Godly Play as an approach to religious education in early childhood. He is especially interested in how the Godly Play process nurtures the spiritual dimension of children's lives. He is available for consultancy to work with school and faith communities in these areas.
